e side switched worked as advertised. My personal carry is an Eagletac D25A clicky with xpg2 led. The Eagletac is bright. The Fenix is bright. The Eagletac gets the edge when you first turn it on before it steps down, then its a crap shoot. The Fenix has a tighter hotspot and probably will throw farther, but being single AA lights, how far do you want it to throw without losing usable spill? The Eagletac is physically smaller in all dimensions. The Fenix feels more solid and substantial in your hands. Since this was not meant to be a comparison, let me get back to the LD12. Its nice that it has the side switch for mode switching, great for one hand operation. Its not too big and I could see this being a nice edc light. The gf carries it in her purse in its holster that comes with. Bottom line, the gf likes it and that is all that really matters. 5 stars, Read Less
